Texa AI in your website and app

Add Texa AI to your own website or mobile app, as a support chat for visitors and an agent that works in signed-in customers' accounts.

Add Texa AI to your own website or mobile app.

  • Before the customer signs in, it’s a support chat that answers from your knowledge.
  • Once they sign in, the same chat knows who they are and works in their account through your own systems. It looks things up, makes changes with the customer’s yes, sends files such as a receipt or a statement, opens the right page in your app, and fills in forms.
  • Your team sees every chat in Texa Desk as it happens, and can take over. While a chat is open, they see what the customer is typing, with card numbers, PINs and passwords hidden.
  • You never share your code with Texa. You add one script tag or app component, and one route on your own server that says who is signed in. Then you choose in Texa Desk what Texa AI may do.

Set it up

Go to Texa AI → Developers → Your website and app.

  1. For your website: copy the snippet with your site key, and add your website addresses under Websites your widget runs on. Write each one as https:// and the address, without a path. The live widget answers only on these websites. The sandbox one runs anywhere.
  2. Signed-in customers: add a route on your server that tells Texa who is signed in. The website and app guide shows it in Node, Python and PHP.
  3. Pages: add the pages customers ask for, such as My documents or Payments, with a Name as customers would ask for it, and the Address. Choose Read from your website to find them.
  4. Choose what Texa AI may do with actions. Actions you keep for signed-in customers are refused to visitors.
  5. Choose where your team sees the chats, under Every chat in Texa Desk.

The website snippet looks like this:

<script src="https://api.texadesk.com/widget.js" async
        data-site-key="pk_live_..."
        data-session-url="/texa/session"></script>

In a React Native or Expo app, use the TexaChat component from @texadesk/react-native. See SDKs.

Built-in protections

  • The key in the page only opens visitor chats, and only from your own websites.
  • Your own API decides what each customer may see and change.
  • Changes need the customer’s yes, and your procedures decide when an action is allowed.

Not the same as the website chat

The website chat is Texa Desk’s live chat bubble for any website. This feature is for your own website or app when customers have accounts with you, and Texa AI should work in them.
